If I were to ask you if you had ever been the topic of discussion, I am sure the response would be 100% in the affirmative. The truth is, 'your existence qualifies you to become a topic of discussion.' You do not have to request it; you have no power over it. People will talk about you whether you like it or not. Some will speak positively, others negatively, and others will try to find middle ground.
 

You cannot live your life based on the opinion polls. Why? They never remain the same. Mankind has an uncanny habit of changing his mind about people, clothing, and things. He may affirm a thing today, and verbally nullify it tomorrow. He makes his judgment based on sight and not on God's revelation. The following story proves this point:

"In the year 1870 the Methodists in Indiana were having their annual conference. At one point, the president of the college where they were meeting said, "I think we live in a very exciting age." The presiding bishop said, "What do you see?" The college president responded, "I believe we are coming into a time of great inventions. I believe, for example, that men will fly through the air like birds." The Bishop said, "This is heresy! The Bible says that flight is reserved for the angels. We will have no such talk here." After the conference, the Bishop, whose name was Wright, went home to his two small sons, Wilbur and Orville. And you know what they did to their father's vision."1

The Wright brothers' father though a minister, did not see the possibility of human flight, but based his opinion on the limitations of man in his day. He did not know that under his roof dwelt potential that would revolutionize travel in the 20th century, and beyond. And so it is, we make a grave mistake if we put our destiny in the hands of men. Man does not have a clue about the wealth that God has invested in you.
 

The Bible says in 1st Corinthians 2:9,10,14:
   

"But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.   "But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him; neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."

If you are a child of God, half the story about your potential has not been told. It is so deep God Himself has to reveal it for others to know and understand it. If Jesus was misunderstood, you can be rest assured that people will misunderstand you. In fact, Jesus had so many critics that if He stopped to answer every one of them, He never would have gone to the cross.
