Often times, we miss God because our sense of timing in the natural is based on a chronology of events and not on the mind of God. We look at our calendar and say, "certainly this is the appropriate time to do thus and such." And this is alright to a certain extent. But when it comes to fulfilling our God-given destiny, the calendar is not a good guide, but often a misguide. The clock and calendar are not accurate representations of God's wisdom. So just because a person has lived many years is not necessarily an indication of wisdom.
 

Let us re-visit Matthew 8:29: "And behold, they cried out, saying, what have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?" 
The above scripture reveals the fact that these demons recognized that they are bound for torment, at a certain time. They also recognized that if Jesus were to execute such a process at this particular encounter, it would be premature. The word time in the above passage is the Greek word, KAIROS. It does not suggest a time lapse, but refers to an "appointed time." So the torment of Satan and his cohorts is on an 'appointment basis.' You cannot say when it will happen, it just will at the appointed time set by God. In the same manner, we cannot tell exactly when Jesus will come back again, we can only observe the times and expect it to take place as stated in the Word.
 

The word KAIROS really refers to a season or opportunity. For example, Mark 1:14,15 read:
"Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
 

"And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel."
Jesus understood the sequence of events. He knew it was the right time. God must have given Him discernment to know that when "John is taken out of the scene, that is the appointed time for you to start declaring the Kingdom of God is at hand's reach." So God's timing takes discernment and illumination to recognize. Notice however, that you will never know for sure if it is God's timing until you step out in faith.
