Vision

Proverbs 29:18 declares:
“Where there is no vision [no redemptive revelation of God], the people perish; but he who keeps the law [of God, which includes that of man]—blessed (happy, fortunate, and enviable) is he.” (The Amplified Bible).

It therefore follows that a man or woman who lacks a vision will not succeed in life. Every godly vision is a redemptive revelation.  It is designed to liberate, not to oppress.

Literally, vision is synonymous with sight. And sight is essential to progress. That is why “…if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.” (Matthew 15:14). If you cannot see it you cannot have it.  You can only walk into what you can see.

Without a vision, a man is bound to grope in the dark. A man without a vision for life will grope in the dark for life! That is not the will of God.

Vision can be described as an organized system of thought, a picture, with a definite course of direction.

When God gives you a vision, it leads you on a definite course with a definite destination.  Every detail may not be known all at once, but there is a definite course of direction. It is always tied to your calling and destiny. God does not lead in circles. The Israelites were led in circles because of disobedience. A journey of 2 weeks took 40 years!

How does one obtain a vision for life?

1. Intelligent inquiry:

Habakkuk 2:1-3 declare:
“I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.

“And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

“For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie….”

2. Insight (God idea): Insight is the precursor for foresight.  Every form of foresight begins with insight.  So when you obtain God ideas they produce pictures of the future.  This picture creates an expectation of a desired end.
“For this reason we also, from the day we heard of it, have not ceased to pray and make  [special] request for you, [asking] that you may be filled with the full (deep and clear) knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [in comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God] and in understanding and discernment of spiritual things….”  (Colossians 1:9 The Amplified Bible).

Grab a hold of God’s vision for your life and watch how life becomes a thrill!
