Wisdom
An essential ingredient in the manifestation of our sonship is wisdom. The Bible says, “wisdom is the principal thing.” If this is true, and it is, then to walk in the fullness of our sonship, wisdom is required. Wisdom is the skillful application of knowledge. We must work hard. However, God does not want us to just work harder, but smarter. Wisdom is the ingredient that makes work less strenuous. It is knowing what to do when the occasion arises. Therefore, without it, effectiveness in any area of life is short-lived. The way we obtain wisdom is by:
1. Asking God:
“If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, WHO GIVES GENEROUSLY TO ALL without finding fault, and it will be given to him.” (James 1:5 NKJV).
2. Getting godly counsel:
“Where no wise guidance is, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.” (Proverbs 11:14 The Amplified Bible).
3. Searching for it:
“I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.
“Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.
“By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
“I love them that love me; THOSE that SEEK me early SHALL FIND ME.” (Proverbs 8:12,14,15,17 KJV).
4. Valuing it:
“Prize Wisdom highly and exalt her, and she will exalt and promote you; she will bring you to honor when you embrace her.” (Proverbs 4:8 The Amplified Bible).
“But where shall Wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding?
“Man knows not the price of it; neither is it found in the land of living.
“But to man He said, Behold, the reverential and worshipful fear of the Lord—that is Wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.” (Job 28:12,13 The Amplified Bible).
